Yes , it is 4am on Christmas morning and no I am not up wrapping presents. I get the lovely task this year of working the holidays. I really don't mind because I still get to see my family and friends during the day. Anyways I just wanted to mention a funny story about my mom trying to meet the baby.
A couple of nights ago I went over to my parents house and was telling my mom how the baby was moving a lot. Well my wanted to feel but every time she would put her hand to my stomach the baby wouldn't move. So she grabs a nice COLD soda and places it on my stomach. The baby didn't move but I sure did and my mom wouldn't stop placing that COLD soda on my stomach. So the big joke for right now is mom wanting to place a soda on my belly to make the baby move. Oh the good times we share.
Well I hope you all have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year if I don't get to write to you before then.

22 weeks
I am 22 weeks, and it is funny to me in feeling the belly getting bigger. I feel the baby moving around and the baby must like the music loud because it moves more when we listen to the band at church. In the beginning of the pregnancy all I wanted was fruit, could not get enough it. Now it is sweets with fruit, not a bad combination. So we went to the doctor today and she said that my belly has grown to 22cm and the bump is there. I will have a new belly shot in a week or so and hopefully one of the ultrasounds up. Until then Jeff and I are doing fine, we are in the mitts of training Izzy in being a good dog and hopefully soon start her in some puppy training classes. Everyone have a great holiday if I don't talk to you then.

Pregnancy Classes
I am glad that there are classes out there for woman, like me, who got pregnant on a whelm and have no clue what to really expect. I mean I been with friends and family who have gone through it but lets face it you never know until you go through it yourself. So I went to a class this evening on breast feeding, lets just say there is more to it then I thought. Anyways . . . I was asked to be a volunteer model for the class and help demonstrate which support pillow would be the best thing. Well later on I found out she asked me because I had the smallest tummy out of the whole class. Now I know I have a small tummy to begin with but you have to think I am only 5 months along at this point, everyone in that class was 7 to 8 months along. So of course I loose the belly contest right now. I do believe the baby is growing because lately I have been feeling really tired again and during my lunch break at work I have been taking naps again, not that there is really anything else I can do on my lunch break.
Thinking moment . . .I can't help but think sometimes that the whole pregnancy is to have me slow down right now. I mean usually this time of year I am running around, trying to finish anything and everything I can for the holidays and realize that the holidays went by to fast and that my family went back home up north. I plan to rest a lot more, visit a lot more and truly enjoy the holiday and my family.

Stretching

So I am not sure if any pregnant lady in the past has ever notice this during their pregnancy but I couldn't help notice that on Saturday, while walking around Disneyland that my belly felt really tight. As if it was stretching a little bit. I mention this to some people and I really didn't get a response from them, so I can't help to think that they never notice it or this is just something in my head. Anyways the belly is getting bigger and I order my first maternity pants the other day and the can't come soon enough.
Now for a really happy moment in my life. On Saturday Jeff and Sara took me to Disneyland for my birthday. We couldn't go on that many rides and it was REALLY crowded do to a candle Light performance that evening. I still had a good time drinking hot chocolate and watching the Christmas parade, not to mention watching the people walk around and wounder if they are cold in those short and tank top. Anyways later that night Jeff, Sara and I went to Dave and Busters for dinner and low and behold there was a HUG group of my family and friends there waiting for us to arrive.
I couldn't help but cry in the beginning because it was a surprise moment that I never had and to top it off my Aunty Carol, who lives in Seattle, was there. (All I wanted for my birthday since I was 16 was her to just be there, nothing else and this year I got my wish.) So, yes I cried and Jeff laughed because he knows I hardly cry for anything. We enjoyed the night eating dinner with really important people and playing many fun games at D&B's.
So thanks to all the people who came, I really enjoyed seeing you all there.

Fun Sunday, Scary Monday.

Last Sunday we picked up our newest member of the Alcorn family. Her name is Izzy and she is so cute. She is only 8 weeks old and I just love her spunk and curiosity. Her favorite toy is a toy monkey my sister gave and she is going to be mad at me later because she gets to meet her doctor and receive her shots. She is so hyper and I wish I can take her outside to play so she can burn off some of that energy. I love her so much and soon she will be going to puppy school for puppy training.
Now on Monday I was a little scared because I kept getting the sharp back pain that would come and go over a couple of hours. I called the labor and delivery unit at my hospital and they gave me some of advice on ways to relieve the pain and a short time later it was gone. Well on Wednesday I started getting the same pain only it was on the lower part of my stomach. I talked to the ward again and also my mom because I was freaking out and they believe it was my muscles stretching because the baby is growing. Of course the hospital said that if it continues to come in and get checked out. But once again the pain went away and I am forced to take it easy and not push myself like I do when I was not pregnant. This is really hard for me at this time because I feel my energy coming back but still need to take things SLOW!!
Oh well I have a little one to think of first.

Welcome
Hello, well to catch people up to speed that can not check my myspace account. I am 4 months along in my pregnancy, Jeff and I are happy about our little surprise and so far it has been a healthy pregnancy. Yes, I am showing even though most people think I am not. . . those people make me laugh. No, Jeff and I are not going to find if the baby is a boy or a girl until it is born, sorry to all those who want to know now. I am due around April 21st of 2008. I will put up the ultra-sound as soon as possible and some belly growth shots as well. I have gain 10 pounds since the beginning of the pregnancy and last checked the bump from the belly button to the pubic bone is 16cm (a healthy size). I do not have morning sickness any more but I do get tired here and there and need a good nap every now and then. That is the pregnancy in a nut shell (HAHA! Nut . . . Alcorn. . . anyways) if you have any questions or comments, please let me know. I love to hear from everyone and will keep posting as much as possible. Love you all.
